Abstract

1,272,463. Pipe connection. BRITISH AIRCRAFT CORP. Ltd. 18 Nov., 1970 [28 Aug., 1969], No. 42781/69. Heading F2G. A pipe connection includes a body 1 having external threads 3 and a circumferential flange 7, the threads 3 engaging a second body 5 in its threaded bore 4 and causing the flange 7 to seat on conical surface 9. The flange 7 is sufficiently flexible for the convex surface 8 to form line contact with the conical surface 9. A hexagonal nut 6 is formed as part of the body 1 to facilitate tightening of the connection.
