Abstract

1291708 Screwed pipe couplings EDWARDS HIGH VACUUM INTERNATIONAL Ltd 30 Dec 1969 [13 Feb 1969] 7901/69 Heading F2G A screwed pipe coupling comprising a connecting pipe 2 having its flange 3 gripped between abutment regions of two threaded portions 1 and 6 is characterized in that the portion 6 is resilient and deformable to permit its abutment region 7 to pass over the flange 3 prior to assembly. The portion 6 has a split 8 extending the full height and a knurled ring 9 is placed around the assembled portion. Alternatively, the split extends only part of the height and the portion 6 is knurled. The portion 6 and ring 9 are formed of nylon. A sealing-ring 4 may be ineluded. The portions 1 and 6 may alternatively be threaded internally and externally, respectively.
