Abstract
127,130. Thompson, J. C. June 19, 1918. Projectile fuses:-Rela.tes to clockwork fuses of the kind.described in Specification 12380/95. According to the invention, an arm or pin F projecting from the detonator-pellet or firing-pin carrier C engages in a circular recess a in a face of one of the wheels A of the clock-work train, the arm or pin F being provided with a roller E. When the wheel A, during the flight of the projectile, has made a predetermined rotation, a slot in the wall of the recess a allows the pin F to escape, and the member C is thrown by centrifugal force against the firing-pin D or detonating-cap, as the case may be. The said slot is normally closed by the end of a pivoted arm B, which moves centrifugally out of engagement with the slot after the wheel A has rotated sufficiently to release the arm.
