Abstract

1,270,805. Cooking ovens. HOOVER Ltd. 14 May, 1969 [30 May, 1968], No. 25969/68. Heading F4W. To ensure an even temperature between upper and lower levels in a gas fired oven a fan 32 causes circulation within the cooking compartment 10 and also draws in hot combustion products from a burner 20 in a separate combustion space 21. A deflector 34 provides an expanding annual space 37 giving rise to an area b of low pressure whereby the combustion products are caused to flow into the cooking compartment. The fan may be a centrifugal fan having a closed back adjacent the oven wall ,the front of the fan being open. In a modification, the centrifugal fan has front and rear walls with a central opening in each wall. In a further embodiment the fan is, in effect, two fans arranged back-to-back, that is having a central metal disc with blades protruding normally from each face.
