A device for turning a plough comprises a hydraulic cylinder 12 articulatedly mounted on the plough front chassis which carries the turning shaft 6, the piston rod 13 being pivoted at 15 to a crank arm 7 of the turning shaft. The cylinder is arranged to contact a stop connected with the piston rod at each end position of the plough, and provision is made for adjusting the angular position of the turning shaft relative to the plough chassis in the end positions. The centre of gravity of the crank arm is at the eccentric position S and, in the position shown in Fig. 1, the crank is prevented from rotating due to this eccentricity by a roller stop 17 attached to the piston rod by link 16 and contacting the cylinder base. When the stop is taken out of such contact under the action of the lever 16a the crank arm 8 swings downwards causing the piston rod to enter further into the cylinder and the crank arm 7 to rise to the position shown in chain lines, where it is prevented from falling back by a pawl 18 entering a groove 19 in the end of the crank arm. Pressure fluid is then applied to the cylinder via pipe 21 to complete the motion to the other end position where stop 17 is reapplied. The cylinder is pivoted at 11 on a member 10 which can slide vertically in the chassis by turning screw 9. The resultant variation in angular position of the crank arm is alternatively achieved by having a series of positions on the crank arm at which the piston rod can be selectively pivoted, as in Fig. 4. Alternatively the piston rod may be of variable length. The stop arrangement of Figs. 4 and 6 has a pin engaging a slot in the piston 14 and being displaced by the pressure of fluid introduced into the cylinder at 21. The pin is also displaceable by a manual linkage 29 and by the action of the tapered bottom of the piston on the end of the pin when the piston descends.
