Abstract

1,269,463. Concrete floors. ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS Inc. 26 Feb., 1970 [28 Feb., 1969], No. 9422/70. Heading E1W. [Also in Division F2] A concrete deck 28 is secured to a supporting structure 20 by a fastener 40 provided with a spacer 44 encircling the shank 46 of the fastener, the fastener being embedded in the concrete of the deck such that the spacer 44 allows the shank to bend when lateral forces are applied to the deck. The fastener which may be threaded or unthreaded and provided with a drill point 48 is headed at one end and the spacer 44 .which may be conical over most of its axial length may be split longitudinally and provided with transversely extending flanges and longitudinally extending cylindrical portion. In use, the spacer 44 may be part of or separate from a corrugated member 24 which is mounted on a beam 22 forming part of the supporting structure 20.
