Abstract

1306357 Anchor bolts; sockets ADBAR (PATENT CO) Ltd 1 Sept 1970 [13 Sept 1969] 45230/69 Heading F2H A threaded insert, Fig. 1, on an anchor bolt, Fig. 4, comprises a body member 1 at least part of which is externally tapered as at 10 over which an expansible sleeve or ferrule 2 is driven after the member has been positioned within a hole 3 so that the sleeve or ferrule wedges itself and the member 1 within the hole. The ferrule has a cutting edge 21 to shear material from the wall of the hole and it may be tapered and have an external periphery which is knurled, serrated or barbed. The ferrule may also be longitudinally split at 20 and have an inherent resiliency such that it tends to remain on the body until it is required for use.
