Abstract

1,268,562. n-Butylamine salts of thiophosphorus acid esters. ESSO RESEARCH & ENG. CO. 23 June, 1970, No. 30479/70. Heading C2P. [Also in Divisions C4-C5] A mixture of di-n-butylamine salts of thiophosphate acid esters is made by mixing phosphorus pentasulphide, xylene, nonylphenol and hexylene glycol (i.e. 2 methyl pentane 2,4 diol) in that order and then adding di-n-butylamine, refluxing and stripping off the solvent. As a comparison a similar mixture is made using a C 12 primary amine. The di-n-butylamine salt of phosphosulphurized nonyl phenol is made by mixing phosphorus pentasulphide, xylene and nonyl phenol and then adding di-n-butylamine, refluxing and stripping off the solvent under vacuum.
