Detachable-rim attachments to wheels.-A band tyre B is detachably secured to a wheel by means of a distance-ring D interposed between the tyre base C and the rim A, the rim having taper recesses on both surfaces to receive transverse wedges E, E'. The two sets of wedge seatings may incline in opposite directions, and the wedges may have bifurcated ends which are upset after assemblage. The wedges may also be operated by screws. According to the Provisional Specification, the distance-ring may be dispensed with, the wedge seatings being formed on the wheel rim to co-operate with separate transverse wedges, which may be adjusted by taper-headed radial bolts.
