Abstract

1,267,306. Sheet feeding apparatus. RICOH K.K. 16 July, 1970 [30 Aug., 1969], No. 34417/70. Heading B8R. An original 8 and a photosensitive sheet 9 are fed in contact past an exposure device 11; the original exits via path I and the sheet 9 is fed past a developing device 12 and then passes along a path IIa, III, or IV selected by adjusting a guide plate (not shown). If path IV is chosen sheet 9 merely exits from the apparatus. If path III, sheet 9 exits via a device 14 which applies an official seal. If path IIa, sheet 9 passes a folding device 13, a direction changing device 17, a stopper 18, which halts sheet 9 while copies of other originals are made and fed to 18, a stapler 19 which staples the stack together, a device 20 for punching an identification mark on the stack, and a sealing device 21. Devices 17-21 are operated by cams (not shown) controlled by sheet feed. Direction changing device 17 is the only part of the apparatus described in detail. Rollers 31-34 feed sheet 9 in direction IIb until the sheet actuates a -switch 63 which de-energizes a solenoid 57 causing rotation of shafts 41, 52. This moves rollers 31, 32 out of engagement with rollers 33, 34 and moves rollers 46, 47 into engagement with rollers 44, 45 to feed the sheet in direction IIc.
