Abstract

1,265,288. Plough/landing device. DEERE & CO. 5 Jan., 1971 [7 Jan., 1970], No. 455/71. Addition to 1,228,709. Heading A1B. A landing device in combination with a plough comprises a plough frame 212, 214, 216 extending generally obliquely to the direction of travel, a wheel 254, a plurality of plough bodies 218, an elongated hitch device 226 with its rear end pivotally connected at 230 to the frame, where the hitch includes means 234, 236 at its forward end securable to a tractor for pivotal movement about a generally upright axis. The landing device comprises doubleacting cylinder 248 connected to the tractor hydraulic system, a furrow-finding device 70 mounted on the frame with biassing means preferably a spring normally biassing the furrow-finding member 76 into contact with a previously formed furrow wall, and control apparatus 72 interconnecting the hydraulic cylinder 248 with the source of pressure fluid and reservoir, the control apparatus 72 being responsive to the position of member 76 and which causes adjustment of the lateral position of the plough frame relative to the traction.
