Abstract

1,169,970. Agricultural implements; hitches. W. N. NICHOLSON & SONS Ltd. 13 Sept. 1968 [28 Nov., 1967], No. 54050/67. Headings AlB and A1P. An implement of the type mounted on the front of a tractor may be raised to an inoperative position by hydraulic rams 16 mounted on the tool-carrying frame. Parallel rearward extensions 8, 9 pivotally connect the frame to front axle 13A. The ram is preferably connected between bracket 7 and one arm of a lever 19 the other arm of which carries a pull rod 22 anchored to bracket 23 attached to the tractor. Extension of the ram 16 causes rotation of lever 19, and because bracket 23 lies above axle 13A, raises the frame to the inoperative position. The tool frame incorporates depth controlling wheels and spring-biassed tool carrying arms 28. The ram 16 may be mounted directly between points 11 and 21.
