Abstract

An implement draw gear comprises a draw bar 1 pivotally connected to the tractor 3 about a vertical axis 2 and having- rollers 5 which engage a quadrant guide 4 mounted on the rear of the tractor. An implement mounting assembly 7 mounted on the bar by a transverse pivot 6 consists of a longitudinal member 9 with pivot pin 12 rigidly attached and a frame 10 mounted thereon, said frame having implement mounting arms 11 pivotally attached. The mounting assembly is raised and lowered about pivot 6 by two hydraulic rams 21 which may be double-acting and which act via connecting links 16 and adjustable drop links 15 on a cross bar 14 pivotally mounted on pin 12 and having apertures through which the implement mounting arms 11 pass freely. The arms 11 are pivoted to the forward cross member 27 of the plough 25 about transverse pivot joints 11b. Plough share depth setting is effected by a ram 35 pivotally connected between a rigid forward upright 42 on the plough frame and an anchorage 37 on the longitudinal member 9 of the implement mounting assembly 7: an increase in length of ram 35 decreasing the depth of the plough shares in the ground. Rams 21 and 35 are so connected hydraulically that on raising the plough, ram 35 firstly extends thereby decreasing the plough share earth penetration then rams 21 raise the plough, while on lowering the plough to the working position ram 35 is again operated firstly thereby assisting entry of the plough shares into the earth. Resilient implement centralising arms (Fig. 6) serve to prevent lateral swinging when the implement is fully raised. In a further embodiment (Figs. 8 and 9 not shown) drop links 15 connect directly to arms 11 which in turn are directly pivoted to the draw bar 1.
