Abstract

1,263,884. Selective printing. P.F.M. GLOESS. 28 Aug., 1970 [1 Sept., 1969], No. 41609/70. Heading B6F. A selective printer comprises a print wheel 10 continuously rotated by a motor 1, timing wheels 20, 30 generating start and character pulses respectively, and a distributer 40 distributing successive character pulses to first electrodes of capacitive keys 511-5150 whereby a key pulse is generated at a key touched by an operator's finger, the start, character and key pulses being applied to a magnetic tape recorder 300 for recording coded equivalents of the characters printed by the printer. The printer is of the kind described in Specification 1,210,987, and includes inhibiting means 10 rendering only a single key pulse operative while a finger remains on a key as described in Specification 1,263,883. The recorder 300 is controlled by a control circuit 200 including a counter which responds to character pulses following a start pulse and preceding an operative key pulse to encode the character, pass the code to the recorder, and step the magnetic tape of the recorder.
