Abstract

1,261,942. Electric couplings. MOLEX PRODUCTS CO. 17 April, 1969 [13 Feb., 1969], No. 19664/69. Heading H2E. A terminal 18 for connecting a lead 12 of a component such as an integrated circuit, to a printed circuit conductor 14 has leading and trailing tubular portions 20, 30 separated by a shoulder 34 and having a seam which provides resilience and a good fit in the hole 22, the portion 30 having a resilient member such as a tongue 36 to secure the lead 12. A stop 44 limits the insertion of the lead. In a modification, Figs. 11-17, not shown, the trailing end is slit longitudinally and the walls bowed inwards to form a central section of narrow cross-section to grip the lead. The terminals may be produced as a chain connected by a common linking strip and inserted in the circuit board before the strip is severed or may be severed in turn and fed to the board through the funnel of a feed device.
