1,035,580. Couplings. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. June 21, 1965 [June 24, 1964], No. 26072/65. Heading H2E. A connector 10 for electrically connecting conductive apertures, e.g. 24, 26 in printed circuit boards 20, 22, comprises a core around which is wound a spring wire which is secured at its ends 16, 18, e.g. by swaging, to the core so as to be held in a torsionally contracted condition. The connector is preferably a frictional fit in the apertures and after insertion, one or both ends are cut off so as to allow the spring wire, which may be of copper beryllium, phosphor bronze or steel coated with copper and gold, to expand within the apertures. The core may or may not then be removed.
