Abstract
1,261,833. Liquid-ring pumps. NASH ENG. CO. Jan. 27, 1969 [Oct. 17, 1968], No.4439/69. Addition to 1,255,169. Heading F1C. In a liquid-ring vacuum pump, the pedestal 11 and pump housing 13 are formed as an integral body 1 having a large open end, thereby facilitating machining of circumferential surfaces 50, 52, 54 and end faces 55, 56, 58, 60 during one set-up. Similarly, the rotor 12, end cover 38 and inner casing 20 have circumferential surfaces and end faces which can be machined during one set-up. The inner casing 20 helps to reduce noise when the pump is operative. The rotor 12 is positioned axially by a shim 96. Alternatively, a shim may be located against end face 56.
