Abstract
1,261,719. Valves. ELCHECO CO. Ltd. 21 Oct., 1969 [22 Oct., 1968], No. 50069/68. Heading F2V. [Also in Division G3] Regulating the volume of fluid flow from an inlet 13 to an outlet 12 is achieved by appropriate positioning of an externally screw-threaded control member 17 which co-operates with an internally screw-threaded and tapered bore 11 of the valve body 10. It is said that the regulator is not intended to be used as a shut-off valve but should it be desired to obtain complete shut-off of fluid flow then this can be effected by moving the control member towards the inlet pipe 13 until the engaged threads bind completely before member 17 reaches a gasket 15. The valve body and member 17 are formed from P.T.F.E. with the control member 17 being strengthened by a metal insert 19. In modifications, (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown), both the bore 11 and member 17 may be made to converge in a direction towards the inlet 13. Furthermore, the inlet may be disposed radially with respect to the threaded bore.
