Abstract

1,261,681. Belt fasteners. STEELACE Ltd. 18 Dec., 1970 [20 Feb., 1970], No. 8173/70. Heading F2Q. A belt fastener consists of upper and lower plates 25, 26, one of which is formed with an integral projection 17 which is forced through a hole in the belt 12 to engage a central aperture 29 in a boss 28 on the other plate. As shown for a jointed belt, each fastener element is formed as a plastics moulding with a centre hinge portion 21 and opposed plate portions 25, 26, the element being doubled over to grip one end of belt 12. The projection 17 is screw threaded, while aperture 29 may be similarly threaded or left plain.
