Abstract
710,400. Cycle. saddles. BERGOGNO, J. Sept. 5, 1952 [Sept. 7, 1951], No. 22373/52. Class 136(3) A cycle saddle top 1 is made of moulded thermoplastic material having a basis of po1yamides and comprises on its lower face rear and front portions 2, 3 of increased thickness by means of which it is clamped on the resilient saddle support. The saddle support may be received in holes 4, 5, Fig. 1, where it is retained by the longitudinal tension of the top 1. Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 3, the front portion 3 is formed with a gudgeon 6 of thermoplastic material or of metal embedded in the part 3. The rear part 2 is in the form of an inwardly projecting bead. In a modification, Fig. 4, a screw threaded gudgeon 7 has a head 8 embedded in the rear portion 2 and passes through holes in the saddle support which is retained in position by nuts 9. In the modification shown in Fig. 7 the gudgeon 7 has a square head 8 which engages in a T-shaped recess in the part 2. In a further modification, Fig. 8, a part 10 of the saddle support is embedded in the part 2.
