Abstract
1,261,300. Fuel injection systems. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Sept.22, 1970 [Sept.23, 1969; Feb.12, 1970], No.44979/70. Heading G1N. In an I.C. engine fuel injection control system, the power stage 60, which applies the injection control pulses to the solenoid injection valves 11, includes an n-p-n silicon power transistor 66 having its collector connected to the positive lead 26, the negative lead being earthed, and its emitter connected to the solenoid windings, and a base leakage resistance path for protecting the base-emitter path of the transistor 66. As shown, this path is provided by a resistor 69, and in a modification, Fig.3 (not shown), a free-running diode is connected between the negative lead and the collector of amplifying transistor 64, the latter collector being connected to the base of transistor 66 by a resistor. In alternatives, Figs.4 and 5 (not shown), the base leakage resistance path is provided by the collector-emitter path of a transistor, the emitter of said transistor being connected to the emitter of transistor 66, and a diode bridging the base of said transistor and its emitter.
