Abstract

1,261,132. Electroplating. MESSERSCHMITTBOLKOW-BLOHM G.m.b.H. Nov. 3, 1969 [Nov. 7, 1968], No. 53680/69. Heading C7B. In a method of electroplating using a flowing electrolyte the direction of flow of electrolyte is opposite to the direction of flow of current through the electrolyte. In the apparatus shown the method is applied to joining a tube 3' to a workpiece 3 constituting a cathode. Electrolyte enters the apparatus by nozzle 4, passes into annular chamber 13, passes through bores 6 to annular chamber 14 and by annular gap 5 to annular chamber 15 and outlet nozzle 7. The body 2 forms an annular anode with connection 16 to a source of current. Electro-deposit 11 forms on the upper face of workpiece 3 and the flange of tube 3'.
