Abstract
Appts. uses a pulsating pump to drive the electroplating soln. through a metal nozzle, which forms an anode connected to the positive pole of a d.c. power supply; the negative pole of the d.c. supply is connected to the workpiece or substrate, which thus forms the cathode. The jet of liq. flows through the nozzle onto the substrate. The nozzle is pref. joined to a thick tube made of a pure metal which is to be deposited on the substrate. The pump must be made of an electrically insulating material, and its delivery rate is pref. adjustable. The d.c. power supply is pref. also adjustable; and the soln. can be of any type used in electroplating or electroforming. This appts. can be used outside a factory, e.g. on a construction site, for the plating of large workpieces and/or the bores of workpieces.
