Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable chamfering with high accuracy without making burr and causing slippage, by electrolyzing only the chamfered part of an electroconductive workpiece. CONSTITUTION:An electroconductive workpiece 2 such as the valve plate of an enclosed compressor is inserted into the hole 4 of a jig body 3. An electric insulator is interposed between the workpiece 2 and the inside surface of the hole 4. An electrical current is caused to flow between a first electrode 6 and the workpiece 2 while an electrolyte is supplied through a hole 5 and the to-be- chamfered hole 8 of the workpiece, a second eletrode 9 is set as an anode and the first electrode 6 is set as a cathode. The convergence of the electrical current is suppressed by the corner 3a of the jig body 3 so that the current is concentrated to the to-be-chamfered part 8a of the workpiece 2 by the insulator 10. The part 8a as an anode is dissolved by the current flowing between the first electrode 6 and the part 8a through the electrolyte. The part 8a is thus chamfered.
