[Also in Division H5] The rod electrode 22 of a T.I.G. or plasma jet welding torch is permanently secured, e.g. by weld 24, to an electrode holder 25 adjustably screwed into the torch housing 12. A nozzle 11 surrounding the electrode 22 has an annular channel 17 for a shielding gas. A pipe 18 supplies plasma gas to the housing 12, which includes an insulating ring 13. Current is supplied to workpiece 20 and electrode 22 through rectifier 19.
