Abstract

1,258,979. Covers for containers. P. FERRERO & C SpA. 8 July, 1969, No. 34339/69. Heading B8P. [Also in Division E2] A cover for a dispensing container comprises a frame 1 having an integral skirt 12 for insertion into the container 14 and a flap 6 hingedly connected to one edge of an opening 2 by means of a flexible resilient connecting strip 7 which urges the flap into the partially open position in which it is moulded. Lowered cross-members 3 and 5 of the frame 1 support the closed flap, member 3 bearing an undercut bead 4 for engagement with a resilient projection 11 formed on a reinforcing rib 10 of the flap 6. The end 9 of the flap is bevelled to facilitate opening. The connecting strip 7 may be connected to the cross-member 5 or directly to the frame 1, and may be continuous or discontinuous.
