Abstract

1349771 Containers MARDON ILLING- WORTH Ltd 16 May 1972 [22 June 1971] 29194/71 Heading B8P [Also in Divisions E1- E2] In a composite container having a body 11 of rigid plastics material and a lid 20 of sheet metal hinged to the body, the hinge elements (Divisions E1-E2) comprise at least one tubular female part 22 formed integrally with the lid 20 and external male lugs 15, co-operating with the tubular female part 22, moulded integrally with the body 11. During assembly the lugs 15 are permitted to spring into engagement with the female parts 22. The front wall section of the lid is provided with an internal projection 24 which is adapted to be sprung over a body rib 17 when the hinged lid is closed to hold the lid releasably in its closed position. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 7, not shown) the lid is formed with one tubular female part (26) cooperating with a pair of lugs (28) moulded on the plastics body (27).
