Abstract

1,258,203. Resistance motor controllers. MEFINA S.A. 7 May, 1970 [14 May, 1969], No. 22031/70. Heading H1S. A variable foot control device for regulating the speed of an electric motor comprises a variable resistance 10 and its resistance selection slider 27, operated by a cover member 12 pivoting on an axle 14 movable against the action of a spring 20. Angular movement of cover 12 moves through pin 28 a pivoted lever 25 which carries slider 27 of the variable resistance. An intermediate support plate 9 bears an electrical printed circuit for connecting between the electric supply cable 11, the motor to be controlled and the variable resistance. Flexible stops may be arranged on the sides of an abutment (31) (Fig. 3, not shown) to limit the travel of the cover. An elastic washer 37 is provided on said pivot to facilitate rotation of said cover on said casing. A plate 23 of non-skid material such as rubber or plastics material covers the bottom of the casing. The casing and actuating member are made of metal or plastics material and the lever 25 is formed of an insulating synthetic moulding material.
