Abstract

1,257,733. Tents. AMERICAN VELCRO 10 Jan., 1969 [10 Jan., 1968], No. 1654/69. Heading E1A. A tent comprises two support members 33 arranged in parallel, a first pair of arches 40 arranged in non-coplanar relationship to one another and pivotably interconnected to form a first closed loop by connecting means 50 attached to the members 33, a second pair of arches 45 pivotally connected to the members 33 to form a second closed loop vertically spaced apart from the first closed loop and a first fabric suspended in tension from the perimeter of the first loop to define a roof of substantially saddle configuration. The framework of the tent may be reniforced by cross-bars 47 and cables 46, 46' and the arches 40 may be raised in position by cable and pulley means 35, 36. For numerous minor modifications and details concerning reinforcing trusses, windows, method of erection, attachment of the fabric, interconnection of arch components and packaging of the tent in the support members 33, the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown) should be referred to.
