Abstract
1,257,710. Electric cables. IWASAKI TSUSHINKI K.K. 5 Feb., 1969 [6 Feb., 1968], No. 6147/69. Heading H1A. [Also in Division H2] A probe may be connected to an oscilloscope by a flexible coaxial cable comprising a central conductor surrounded by successive layers of insulation, a tightly fitting conductor, and a conductive mesh, all enclosed in an insulative sheath. The tightly fitting conductive layer prevents friction between the mesh and the insulation when the cable is bent, which produces static electricity which gives rise to noise in the probe signal. The conductive layer may be a flexible synthetic resin, e.g. polyethylene or P.V.C., containing conductive particles; a thin film, e.g. Cu, deposited on the insulation by evaporation or spraying; or a composite layer of the film and resin.
