Abstract

1,257,515. Controlling Clutches. ING. C. OLIVETTI & C. S.p.A. 29 Sept., 1969 [26 Oct.' 1968], No. 47839/69. Heading F2L. [Also in Division B6] A clutch for effecting a typing action comprises a lever 58, Fig. 1, which releases a dog 64 to engage a toothed wheel 69. This connects a driving shaft 70 to a group of cams 43, 71 and 94 for a one-third revolution. A second clutch, Fig. 2, comprises an operating bail 191 which when moved clockwise releases a lug 203 on a ring 204 which moves by a spring 211 so that a dog 209 engages a toothed gear 210 to connect the driving shaft to a cam 205. The ring 204 is supported by two links 208 in addition to the dog 209.
