Abstract

1328215 Variable speed gears YANMAR DIESEL ENGINE CO Ltd 2 Oct 1970 47030/70 Heading F2D A variable speed gear has two shift forks 25, 27 movable by a single shift lever 7 to which is connected (e.g. at 18) a part 19 having a projection a slidably vertically in a groove c in one fork 25, and a groove b in which is slidable transversely a projection d of a member 24 coupled (e.g. by e and f) to the other fork 27. The gear is shown on a powered agricultural machine which has another lever 8 moved normal to the plane of Fig. 6 to move a shift fork 39 for driving a tool (e.g. a cultivator). The lever 8 has ramp plates 41, 411 which on moving the lever 8 from neutral, engage and pivot a plate 43 to a position preventing the lever 7 being moved to reverse the machine, or if the lever 7 is in reverse to disengage or prevent engagement of a high reverse speed R2.
