Abstract

1,257,113. Confining dust and removing fumes generated in industrial processes. J. R. RAWSON & CO. (HEATING) Ltd. 24 Nov., 1970 [25 Nov., 1969], No. 57538/69. Heading F4X. Ventilated work station particularly for use in foundries for fettling operations comprises a grid-like support platform built up from members 1 with collection trays 3 for collecting swarf or granular materials falling through the platform during a working operation; any fumes generated are withdrawn through a pair of tapering ducts 8 and 9 having extraction slots 10 and thereafter pass through a common duct 13, outlet duct 17, filter unit and fan unit 18 to be finally exhausted through a chimney 20. Pressurized air is supplied through an inlet duct 24 to a plenum chamber 23 from whence it is directed through a grille 25 downwardly on to the platform. The station is provided with a control panel 27.
