Abstract
1,257,036. Mixing by sonic/ultrasonic vibrations; spray producers. KUIBYSHEVSKY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT NEFTYANOI PROMYSHLENNOSTI. 2 Dec., 1968, No. 36984/68. Headings B1C and B2F. [Also in Divisions F3-4, G4-6] A fluid mixing device 10, see Fig. 3, comprises three vibration generators 3a; ' 3b, 3c arranged in series, the fluids to be mixed being introduced through conduits 11, 12, 13 and the resulting mixture being discharged through conduit 14. Each vibration generator comprises a chamber provided with curved baffles, the arrangement being such that fluid streams introduced into the chamber are directed by the baffles in curved paths towards each other and the central discharge port, sonic and ultrasonic vibrations being generated in the fluid medium by alternate retardation of the streams. A sprayer 15, see Fig. 4, comprises three vibration generators 3d, 3e, 3f of the type described in series and a nozzle 16. In use, liquid(s) to be dispersed are fed to generators 3d, 3e and dispersing gas is fed to generator 3f.
