Abstract

1,256,828. Animated figure toy. MATTEL Inc. 29 Jan., 1969 [11 Sept., 1968], No. 33071/ 70. Divided out of 1,254,895. Heading A6S. An animated figure toy comprising a body with a torso and appendages, a source of energy, drive means and a position control unit arranged so that when the unit is in a first position the drive means moves one or more of the appendages and when in a second position, rotates the body about a selected axis. In the figure the shaft 28 is rotated by a d.c. motor (not shown). When arm 14 is in the up position, rod 26 lifts shaft 28 and gears 40 and 42 engage thus rotating crank shaft 52 causing movement of the legs about joints 65 and 75 via connecting rods 60 and 70. When arm 14 is in the downward position shaft 28 is lowered disengaging gears 40 and 42 and engaging gears 38 and 46 and thereby causing the whole figure to rotate about shaft 48.
