Abstract

1,255,874. Tool for prizing floor-boards &c. E. A. CHERRETT, and P. A. CHERRETT. 30 May, 1969 [23 April, 1969], No. 20787/69. Heading B4C. A tool for prizing-up floor-boards &c. comprises a body-portion 1 having a curved surface 2 and at least one extension 5 also having curved surfaces 6 so that whilst the surface 2 rests on a floor joist, the extensions 5 lie alongside the joist and under a floor-board, which is to be prized up. The tool is levered about the surface 2 using a handle 4. The body-portion may comprise a curved plate (3) Fig. 3 (not shown) having a notch (11) for extracting nails, and a flat surface 9 which may be levered against a nail secured in a joist, allowing further curved surfaces 8 on the extensions 5 to cramp floorboards together.
