911,782. Spiked plates. ROBINSON, F. W. Aug. 28, 1961 [Aug. 27, 1960], No. 29639/60. Class 89 (2). A right-angled plate for attachment in the angle between a stair tread and riser, e.g. by screws or nails in holes 18, has at least one spike 20 (for retaining a carpet over underfelt or a pad 22) at each side of the plate angle, the spikes being inclined across that angle whilst at least one end of the plate bears a flange 14 to space the plate from the tread or riser to allow for the thickness of the underfelt or pad 22. The spikes may be pressed out from the plate or separate spikes may be riveted to the plate.
