Abstract

770,279. Securing carpets to floors. SEAGER, J. H. Sept. 15, 1954 [Sept. 15, 1953], No. 25425/53. Class 142 (4). A carpet fastener, Figs. 4 and 5, comprises prongs 2 formed by making cut-outs 3 in a plate 1 and bending up the prongs. The plate may be secured to the floor by screws, which may pass through keyhole-shaped holes, or the plate may have prongs 5 for driving into the floor. As shown in Fig. 7, a carpet may be pulled taut by engaging a prong 2a in the end of the carpet, pivoting the plate 1 about a screw 6, and engaging the side edge of the carpet on a prong 2b. Specification 269,278 [Class 142 (iv) ] is referred to.
