Abstract

The ring rail in textile machines is vertically displaced by rotations in opposite directions of a drive shaft 1 which is controlled by two microswitches 14, 15 carried on a crank arm attached to the drive shaft. The microswitches are spaced apart in the axial direction of the shaft and are electrically connected to an electromagnetically controlled valve 10 which controls the supply of pressure fluid to a double-acting fluid pressure device 4 arranged to rotate the shaft in opposite directions. The microswitches 14, 15 are actuated by cams which are simultaneously angularly displaceable about the axis of the drive shaft 1 in the path of the microswitches 14, 15. As shown, the cams are mounted on discs 18, 19 which are rotated about the drive shaft 1 by a step-by-step motor 19 in accordance with a programme set in control unit 23. The discs can be rotated by a synchronous motor which is operated at equal time intervals and which rotates only for a preset number of revolutions. This preset number is counted by a perforated disc which is driven by the motor and which cooperates with a transducer connected to the counter, (Fig. 3). The above arrangements provide the ring rail with a stroke of varying magnitude. If it is required to keep the stroke magnitude constant, but to move the mean point of the stroke, the cams 14, 15 can be mounted on a single disc (Fig. 2).
