Abstract

Winding mechanism for removing threads or the like from a treatment chamber, such as a gland-crimper, comprising: a drive cylinder element set in a rotational motion by a drive means; a rotating thread winding element, on which the treated thread is wound, at least one of said elements being mobile with respect to the other of said elements; a control means for varying the space between said thread winding element and said actuating cylinder element between the limits of the total clutch and complete disengagement from each other, said control means comprising: a rotating drum means, a means of control linkage connected on the one hand to said mobile element and on the other hand to said drum means at a point separated from the rotary axis of said drum means, so that a rotary movement of said drum means moves said means linkage; means responsive to a predetermined amount of thread treated in said chamber to be wound on said winder element, and means for rotating said drum means in response to said responsive means, said drum means being rotated to actuate said linkage means with in order to vary the space between said winding element and said actuating cylinder element, thus increasing or decreasing the winding speed to maintain the amount of thread at said predetermined amount.
