Abstract

844,453. Knitting-machines. LIEBRANDT, K. April 10, 1957 [April 27, 1956], No. 11809/57. Class 74 (2). As a shaft 6 is oscillated by variation in the tension of a warp 1 passing over a tension-bar 3, to a warp-knitting machine, a stop 21, carried by a sleeve 10 secured to the shaft, abuts against one or other of adjustable stops 19, 20, carried by a member 12 freely rotatable on the shaft and, if the swing of stop 21 is sufficient, causes one or other of cams 26, 27 to engage the button 24 or 25 of a switch 22 or 23 controlling the drive to the warp beam. A brake comprising friction discs 14, 15 and a spring 17, tends to retain the member 12 in any position to which it has been carried by a swing of the stop 21, until the member is moved by a subsequent swing of that stop. The switch 22 may energize a motor which, through a cone clutch and worms and worm gears, adjusts a gear 36, controlling in turn an infinitely variable warp beam driving gear 9. The cam 26 may also operate an additional switch for resetting gear 36. The switch 23 stops the rotation of gear 9.
