Abstract

1,255,094. Vehicle hydrostatic transmission; vehicle suspension. BRITISH MOTOR CORP. Ltd. 29 June, 1970 [11 July, 1969], No. 34946/69. Headings B7D and B7H. A motor vehicle of the kind in which an engine driven pump 16 delivers pressurized hydraulic fluid to individual wheel-motors has wheel motors 7 mounted on the outer end of pivotal upper and lower suspension arms 8 and 9, provided with ducts 28, 25 respectively, for the supply and exhaust of fluid. The chassis has hollow members 2, 3 which convey fluid to the ducts 28. A transverse internal combustion engine 15 drives the hydrostatic pump 16 connected to a valve block 35 having neutral valves 36 which provide a neutral condition, forward drive condition and reverse drive condition.
