Abstract

1,254,866. Roller conveyers. POWER LIFTS Ltd. 30 April, 1969 [23 May, 1968], No. 24769/68. Heading B8A. The centre series of rollers of a three-series roller conveyer comprises idler rollers 5 and drive rollers 3, each of the latter being driven by an electric motor within the roller. At their ends the rollers 3 are supported by a yoke 21 and by a spring-mounted-member 15. Shafts 25, 31 for the rollers 3 are non-rotatable and the shaft 25 carries a terminal box 57 for the motor power supply. Drive, to the rubber-covered roller shell is by a gear 53 driven by a lay-shaft pinion 51, the lay-shaft 45 also carrying a gear 43 driven by a pinion 41 of the motor. If a drive roller fails, replacement is possible by disconnecting the supply at 57 and lifting the roller from the yokes 21. The support shafts of the drive rollers may be vertically slidable -in the yokes and fluid pressure motors may be used.
