[Also in Divisions D1-D2] A fibre web or paper is impregnated in a twobath process, the first bath containing an amino - plast resin pre-condensate which hardens quicker and flows more easily than that in the second bath. The difference in flowability may be adjusted by adding different hardeners or different amounts of hardener to the bath. Alternatively, a hardener may be added only to the first bath or substances which increase the flowability but remain thermoplastic at the pressing temperature may be added to the second bath. The hardener may be an acid, salt, ester, or mercaptan. The resin can be a melamine and/or urea formaldehyde condensate. The impregnated web is dried and hardened by heat and pressure in a pressing operation. During pressing the impregnated web can be laminated to fibre board, press board, or laminated boards.
