Abstract

1,253,351. Caravan seats. DANBURY CONVERSIONS Ltd. 2 Oct., 1968 [17 Oct., 1967], No. 47307/67. Headings B7B and B7J. [Also in Division A4] A caravan seat 12B or 12A, Fig. 2, comprises a base 14 slideable on runners 18 between front and rear positions, and a detachable seat back 17 having a lower part inserted in slots 15, 16 at a rear part of the seat base 14 to provide a forward-facing seat when the seat is in its rear position. The front part of the seat base 14 may also have slots 15, 16 for the back 17 to provide a rearward facing seat when the seat is in its front position, or back 11 of a front seat 10 provides the back of seat 12B. A flap 19 hinged to the seat base 14 limits the forward movement of the seat. The seat top and back 17 may have cushions, the one for back 17 having a flat sleeve to fit over back 17. Back 17 or a table 30 may bridge seat 12A and a rear seat 13 to provide a bed. A stove or sink 20, Fig. 5, comprising a working part 21 and a pair of parallel limbs 22, is stored in seat(s) 12A and/or 12B and can be elevated to first and second in-use positions (see Figs. 3, 4) by raising it till feet 23 engage rails 27 and then tilting it rearwardly (i.e. clockwise) until feet 24 rest on steps 25 or 26 at one side of an opening in the seat top and limbs 22 abut the opposite side of the opening. Limbs 22 may be accommodated in side slots (29, Fig. 6). Seat base 14 may be arranged as a locker. A sink 29 may be incorporated in the rear seat 13. The arrangement of Fig(s). 5 (and 6) is described and claimed in patent Specifications 1,253,353 and 1,253,352.
