Abstract
1,252,516. Photoconductive composition. EASTMAN KODAK CO. 21 Aug., 1969 [21 Aug., 1968; 17 Feb., 1969], No. 41788/69. Addition to 1,227,938. Heading H1K. A photoconductive composition comprises a non-polymeric organo-" metallic " photoconductive material having dispersed therein a sensitizing amount of a 4-aminobenzo[b]- pyrylium or 4-aminobenzo[b]thiapyrylium salt. Preferably the salt is of the formula wherein X is O or S, R is substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or aryl, R<SP>1</SP> is H, alkyl or alkoxy group having up to four carbon atoms and R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are H or together form a fused aromatic ring. The specific organo-" metallic " photoconductors disclosed include derivatives of boron, phosphorus, tin, gallium, aluminium, indium, thallium, silicon, lead, arsenic, bismuth and germanium. A resin binder may be mixed with the composition and the mixture coated on a support to form an electrophotographic plate.
