Abstract

1,248,361. Bellows pump, discharging liquid by gas pressure. YAO-HUANG LI and TSAIDOW LEE. Jan. 9, 1970, No.01185/70. Headings F1N and F1R. In an assembly for pumping liquid from a container, a bellows 1 is compressable against spring 3 by manual pressure on a spring loaded cup 9 which seals an opening 6 immediately prior to compression of the bellows. The resultant air pressure acts on plugs 33, 34 Fig. 2 which are connected to a valve member 26 in the outlet 24 by a frame 28, 29, 37, so that they open against the force of a spring 41 to allow pressurizing air to enter the container 2 via ducts 31, 32 and so that at the same time the valve member 26 opens to allow liquid to be dispensed from a dip tube 22 through the outlet 24. The string 38, 39 helps the spring 41 to return the frame 28, 29, 37 to close the ducts and the outlet, when the spring 3 expands the bellows. In another embodiment Fig. 5 (not shown) the valve member 26 is replaced by a member seating on the end of the outlet 24 above the plug 15.
