Abstract
124,754. Stabilimenti Biak Ing. A. Pouchain. March 25, 1918, [Convention date]. Ordnance tubes. - Consists in making lining- tubes for ordnance of a metal having a lower modulus of elasticity and a higher co-efficient of thermal expansion than the steel of which the gun is made. Such tubes are of slightly smaller external diameter than the internal diameter of the bore in which they are seated, and are expanded until they adhere to the bore by the first few rounds fired. The lining-tubes are secured in any known manner, so that they are readily removable for renewal. Specification 14585/00 is referred to.
