Abstract

[Also in Division F4] In a water storage system water under pressure is fed into a tank 2 in which air is trapped in a space 10 and is transferred by the pressure of this air through a pipe 3 into a second tank 1 that is connected to at least one draw off point. Preferably the tanks are defined by a partitioned container and water heating means, e.g. an immersion heater 6 or a water to water heat exchanger, is provided in the tank 2. A pressure relief and anti-vacuum valve 7 is provided between the tank and the or each draw off point. The level of water in the tank 2 is controlled by any suitable means, such as a ball valve 9.
