Abstract

124,735. Nasousky, A. J. July 13, 1914. [Convention date]. Double walls; double walls with concrete fillings.-Hollow walls which may be filled with concrete are formed of two rows of slabs a, each slab having on the inner face a central rail b with a notch c in the top, opposite slabs being connected by bond members d made of glazed terracotta or other waterproof material and having tenons e to engage the notches in the ribs, and one or more openings d<1> for air circulation. Vertical passages d<2>, Fig. 7, may also be provided. The ends of the bond members are concreted in place. The corners, jambs, and abutments of the wall may be filled with concrete which is made waterproof. The corner slabs are provided with a dovetailed tenon g<1>. The slabs may be made of cement, terra cotta, or other material, and a wall may be formed mainly of terra-cotta slabs, which may be glazed or enamelled on the outside, with cement slabs at the corners.
